Dalliance is a lighthearted and playful composition that captures the spirit of flirtation and romantic intrigue. Modeled after Romantic era classical literature and the act of corting, it tells the tale of two lovers destined to fall apart.

The piece begins with a bouncy and romantic introduction, featuring a cheerful melody and bright harmonies. The melody is passed between different hands of the piano, creating a sense of back-and-forth banter and playful interaction.

As the piece progresses, the tempo becomes more intense, and the harmonies become more expressive and sensuous. This reflects the cheating and lustful behavior between the two lovers, as they become more attracted to each other and more intimate with others outside the relationship. The melody becomes more elaborate and ornate, expressing the depth of feeling and passion that develops between the two.

The climax of the piece features the same melody as the intense section, but is reimagined as a passionate and lush love theme, representing the full bloom of the dalliance and the peak of the lovers' romantic connection. The music gradually subsides in the minor key, leaving the listener with a sense of feeling left behind and alone from the scandal of the lovers.

Overall, "Dalliance" is a delightful and charming composition that captures the emotion and excitement of falling in and out of love. It is a tribute to the power of romance and the many facets of human emotion that it can evoke.
